Abbreviation: "LASIK"
LASIK is a treatment method in refractive surgery in which a microkeratome or a femtosecond laser are used to cut away a thin layer of the cornea surface and lay this as a flap to one side. The actual correction is then made on the underlying tissue by means of a laser. Once the laser treatment is complete, the corneal disc is folded back over and re-positioned. | | return to previous page |
