JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handler will provide support to a functional area within the Customer Care department. The incumbent ensures that operational goals are met in an effective manner on a daily basis. Activities are performed within a Good Manufacturing Processes/ISO environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
SHIPPING:
- Pull orders and verify that correct parts match request. 60%
- Package, box, and label instruments and parts for shipment. 20%
RM1:
- Responsible for transactions and the material flow from RMI to Manufacturing, WFS, FS and CRC. 50%
- Put away received and inspected material in appropriate location. 30%
RECEIVING:
- Ensure inventory accuracy with accurate data entry transactions. 75%
- Responsible for material flow from receipt to stage. 5%
RGA:
- Ensure inventory accuracy with accurate data entry transactions. 60%
- Coordinate the flow of work orders with CRC. 20%
SERVICE PARTS STOCKROOM:
- Pack, weigh, and traffic international shipping packages.
- Process shipping orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate with co-workers on status of shortages and relevant information in a timely manner.
ALL: 20%
- Maintain FIFO (first in, first out.)
- ESD training and application while working with parts.
- Keep area clean and organized at all times. Maintain shelf location.
- Process finished goods inventory receipts (backflushes).
- Organize bins for new product introductions. Remove bins for sunsetted items.
- Communicate with external and internal customers on status of parts/instruments, discrepancies, and any other issues pertaining to material workflow as needed.
- Pull material for scrap process.
- Maintain currency of and adhere to applicable Good Manufacturing Processes and ISO 9001 processes and procedures. Abide by state and federal employment laws.
- Using barcode, ensure inventory accuracy by daily cycle counting and accurate data entry transaction.
- Work in other areas of Logistics as need arises.
- Build good interdepartmental relationships resulting in superior material handling for production.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Close working relationships may be maintained with internal cross-functional departments and external vendors, suppliers and customers.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Environment is enclosed warehouse electronic assembly area with sealed floors, climate control, florescent lighting, ESD (electro. static discharge) protected workstations, ESD sensitive material, pallet racks and industrial trucks. Work may occasionally be conducted outdoors as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year working knowledge in warehouse environment with warehouse skills.
- 1 year of SAP (Systems Application Products) preferred.
- 1 year of Forklift experience.
- 1 year PC experience.
- Experience should be in a FDA/GMP (Food and Drug Administration/Good Manufacturing Process) or ISO (International Organization for Standardization) environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
- Organizational and planning skills preferred.
- 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
- 1 year experience with bar code preferred.
- Professional demeanor and attitude.
- Ability to manage projects simultaneously.
SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Walking, standing or sitting up to eight (8) hours may be required.Exposure to warehouse conditions may be required. Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required. Overtime, as the job dictates.
