The following questions and answers are intended to help you better understand Stratus OCT Instrument and Review Software version 6.0. If you have additional questions, contact your sales representative.



Q. I have ___ and I am considering buying ___. Are they compatible?

A. Generally, if an instrument and review software are on the same software version there is full compatibility. If you have a mixture, the instrument or review station with the higher version of software can view data created on earlier versions.
Other mix/match scenarios are discussed below.

Q. Who will install the software?

A. The software is intended for installation by the customer without on-site service.


Q. My Stratus instrument currently has software version 2.0 or 3.0. How long do you estimate it will take for me to install the new software?

A. This may take approximately 20 minutes for the software upgrade process only. Depending on the size of your database, the database validation and conversion steps may take several hours. The user does not need to be present while the conversion is taking place.


Q. My Stratus instrument currently has software version 4.0 or version 5.0. How long do you estimate it will take for me to install the new software?

A. Approximately 5-10 minutes depending on which Intel processor is in your computer.


Q. Is there enough memory on my Stratus computer to load the new software? Will the computer be slower afterwards?

A. Depending on the installed memory there should be no issue. A few new software features introduced in version 5.0 or 6.0 may operate more slowly if you have a PentiumŪ 3 processor on your PC rather than a PentiumŪ 4.
