Thomas Simmerer (48) is a Member of the Management Board of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, where he bears responsibility for global sales and service.
He has extensive experience in medical technology. He has been in charge of the Microsurgery strategic business unit in Oberkochen since October 2008. Before joining the medical wing of Carl Zeiss, the mechanical engineer held various positions in sales at Dräger Medical AG & Co. KG in Lübeck from 1996 to 2008. Starting as the Head of Product Marketing for the Intensive Care area, his most recent position at this company was Head of the company's top-performing Perioperative Care business unit.
Simmerer began his sales career in 1989 at Heraeus Instruments in Hanau, a globally operating precious metal and technology enterprise.
For the expansion of the successful sales and service structure of Carl Zeiss Meditec, Simmerer will contribute not only his profound knowledge of the globally important medical technology markets, but also his emphatic skills in intercultural exchange. Maintaining a sharp focus on customer and market requirements plays a central role in his work at all times. He is accustomed to acting in an accomplished manner on the international stage and attaches major importance to efficient, result-oriented action.
Simmerer is married and has two sons. Born in Wiesbaden, he is a passionate skier and long-distance runner in his spare time. | |
